John C. Scibek

John C. Scibek has worked with healthcare, higher education, conservation and community nonprofit organizations for over 39 years and serves UT Austin’s Healthcare Pod as Director of Gift and Estate Planning. He previously assisted the Medical Campus of the University of Miami, and its related 27 major gift officers, as Senior Development Director through UM’s Office of Estate and Gift Planning.

John holds the Certified Specialist in Planned Givingcm designation, MS in Marine Studies and BS in Earth Science. John is a long-time member of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, was recently secretary of the Planned Giving Affinity Group for the National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers and serves on the Philanthropy Committee of the Adventure Cycling Association.

Over his year career, John has operated in senior gift planning roles for Mayo Clinic, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Princeton University, Providence Montana Health Foundation, American College of Surgeons Foundation and the University of Montana Foundation, among others. He initiated his gift planning career launching the yacht donation program for his graduate school at the University of Delaware.
