Pursuing Passions

Jill and Rich Piasecki

Rich and Jill Piasecki made a gift in their estate plan to support Dell Med.

Life is better when you’ve found your passion. For Jill and Rich Piasecki, travel is one of the pursuits that fills their hearts. Rich, a Marine Corps veteran, was a pilot for Southwest Airlines for 35 years. Recently retired, he and Jill now enjoy the freedom of finding new adventures on their own schedule, often taking Mandy, their 13-year-old Brittany spaniel, along for the ride.

Examining their passions was an important part of the decision-making process as the couple made estate plans. Rich, a cancer survivor, knows firsthand the importance of well-trained medical professionals, so giving back to health care providers was top of mind. The desire to give medical students freedom from debt propelled their bequest (a gift in their estate plan) to Dell Medical School.

“Doctors and nurses are needed all over the world,” says Rich, “and a lot of medical students graduate with huge student loans. It would be great if more people would support endowments so that medical students could have their degrees paid for.”

Empowering a New Generation of Doctors

“Doctors and nurses are needed all over the world,” says Rich, “and a lot of medical students graduate with huge student loans. It would be great if more people would support endowments so that medical students could have their degrees paid for.”

Thanks to the support of the Piaseckis, Dell Medical students will have greater opportunities to pursue their passions and give themselves — and others — a better life.
